Bazaar Eclectica Steampunk Market.

For a long weekend (Friday-Monday) we are once more taking over the delightful Park-resorts camp at Camber Sands near Rye in East Sussex.  (Not to be confused with the Pontins Camp next door, the park resorts site has excellent facilities and warmly welcomed us in March 2013.)

 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Even better value this year!   We have managed to reduce prices a little and you can now come for a full weekend using the park's accomodation for £58-£83  per person.    Great value we are sure you would agree.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can arrive anytime from 11am on Friday to collect your wristbands and explore the park or perhaps visit nearby Rye or even head to the beach. Your accomodation will be available between 13.30 and 16.00 on Friday according to grade booked.   For more information on the accomodation available please click here: http://www.park-resorts.com/holiday-parks/kent-and-sussex/camber-sands/accommodation/   The majority of units (90%) have a double bedroom and the remaining rooms offer twin or bunk beds.  If you would prefer a unit with double beds only then please make this clear on the booking form. We will try to accomodate your needs but must stress that we cannot guarantee this and such units will be allocated on a first come first served basis.  When making a booking it is on the understanding that the unit supplied is acceptable regardless.

Our famous Bazaar Eclectica market will be running on Friday 14.00 - 17.00 and Saturday 10.30 - 17.00.  We will also have an "Illicit Market" on Sunday afternoon.   (Trading is only available to booked resident participants of the event.  For more information on trading with the VSS please see http://steampunk.synthasite.com/trading.php)

We have superb headline acts for all three evenings in the form of the Pocketwatch (Friday)  Sunday Driver (Saturday) and Mr B (Sunday).  Add to this supports and other fun for a great weekend of live music and entertainment.

As a change this year we will also have a designated "quiet bar" where you can relax and chat without having to talk over the entertainment.

During the daytime we have a programme of talks and presentations planned as well as features such as tea duelling and a grand volley boater tournament in the pool. (Heats on Saturday and Sunday and the final on Sunday afternoon.)  You can also use the pool complex between 10 and 5 each day for leisure swimming etc and the park is arranging some other activities (e.g. Water rollers - giant inflatable balls on the water) some of which require a modest fee (approx. £3).   There will be classes on "Hysterical Dancing" with Lady Elsie and a Baritsu workshop with Tinker.

Sunday morning and the adventurous can take up Nerf guns to see if they can fight their way through the zombies to safety in steampunks and zombies..

Your accomodation has kitchens etc so you can self cater but there is also a restaurant with some great deals (e.g. two meals for £10) which will be open from 9am offering a breakfast buffet through to 9pm and an onsite fish and chip shop serving until 11pm.  Of course there are licensed bars available.  You can enjoy your own drinks within your accomodation too.

We have one bronze and one gold plus wheelchair accessible units.  If you require one of these please contact the VSS through majortinker@aol.com.

Check out is 10am on Monday but you can still hang around, enjoy the facilities and say your goodbyes before heading home.  You can be sure of a relaxed few days kicking off the steampunk season 2014.

LOCAL PEOPLE - We have arranged to allow access to non-residents (i.e. people not staying in the park's units or their own tourers on site) to this event with the park.  There is a modest surcharge for this compared to the wristbands for residents since the park requires fees for use of the pool etc.  Please book a "Local" wristband if you are not staying on the park.

Children:  Children aged five and under do not require a wristband and junior wristbands are reduced. However we cannot discount accomodation tickets since they are physically taking up space in accomodation.  To realise this discount you need to share your unit with other adults who use the wristbands allowing for the extra sofabeds in many units or bring your own tourer or stay locally.   We are sorry but the nature of the park and the structure of the event mean this is the only way we can do this.
